No pars, no pace, no bias, just good old final times (adjusted for wind speed of course). Handicapping must be a breeze.

: : Thank you nicely. Was afraid I said something wrong! Interesting that since this post there have been many more postings and even though Anthony wrote an awful lot, including his guidelines for using par times, still no specific example. It's true that there are different strokes for different folks but I have to wonder about giving weight to a handicapping factor (pars) whose advocates cannot provide ONE single specific play with supporting analysis (I'm not talking about AFTER the race). How useful can it be?

: I put it right up there with TRACK BIAS - wonderful explanations after the fact but useless for handicapping.
