: : : : My question and comment is the 2 year old development
: : : : patterns.
: : : : The mention to a small sample regarding a fast two year old.Lets say with a 9 first time two turns or better.
: : : : Your point about is well taken.My question is.
: : : : How many derby winners had a 9 or less as a two old
: : : : around two turns?
: : : : The answer is probaly none.Because two year olds who break nine as a two old two turns are not able to get back to that figure in the spring at Chruchill downs.
: : : : The only derby winner that broke a nine as two year old around two turns would Spend a Buck.
: : : : Thanks,
: : : : Congreve
: : I understand you addressed this to JB and I'm sure he can add something, but quite a few Derby winners broke 9's as 2yos. Without having them in front of me, if memory serves from the previous Derby winner sheets I think at least half of them broke a 9. HP
: Did they do it two turns like spend a buck?
TG--Don't have the pps right in front of me but I do have the file of KD winners since 1982. Obviously the bold type races are routes 8 furlongs and up. Have to do research on 2 turn winners as 2yr-olds at 2. TGAB
