: Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe KY passed a rule that in $1million races it is now allowable for commonly owned/trained horses to run uncoupled. This is good news for people searching for value. I asume the only coupling that will happen this year are those horses in the Field, if we get more than 14 entries.
: : uncoupled entries have run in Triple Crown races? I can think of 3 Derby winners (Thunder Gulch, Grindstone, and Real Quiet) who were the lesser half (in terms of betting support) of a trained uncoupled entries.
I don't think there will be any couplings in the DERBY beginning this year. No entries and no field ... all separate betting interests. This should add some value to the race. See ya, jdub.
