Gary Stevens has been riding like shit since he unretired. I dont care if he's in the hall of fame, he's washed up and his knees cant take it anymore. The only reason he still wins races is because he get the mounts, based on his reputation.
: Did Gary Stevens forget where he was or what race he was riding in ?
: Didn't he ride this horse, on this race track, and come from far back to get beat a zop in the BC Juvenile ?
: Or maybe he doesn't read the Form and had no idea the pace scenario of the race.
: Who was the last Derby winner to be within 5 lengths of the lead after a half mile, regardless of the early fractions ( excluding the frontrunning Go For, Winning, and Spend )?
: How can you explain him being 5 lengths off the 44 and change half mile ? And then to say that the horse never was comfortable ! No kidding.
: Would PG have won from far back ? Possibly not, but he surely would have had an opportunity to hit the board had he been ridden by someone not so eager to prove something.
: That ride should go down in history as the worst ever.
