: Isn't it interesting to ponder that if they had chosen to run the horse an extra time, that he would have had the "correct" number of prep races, but that he would have bounced high enough to have it be a negative factor going into the Derby?
: *Under the belief that a mild bounce can win after THUNDER GULCH and MONARCHOS.
Or, Point Given already ran two great races this
year (in a shorter period of time than Monarchos),
and would have bounced anyway because of the two
Please try to remember that many trainers DO NOT
subscribe to TG or even to the other service; and
many trainers DO NOT even subscribe to the
sound "Speed" theories of either site.
Of course, this leads to one central problem
of Sheet handicapping: unlike the owners and the
trainers, the racing public (even us with our
Sheet knowledge), don't know how sound
each horse is for TODAY's race.
I wouldn't bet a whole lot of money on Point
Given if he runs in the Preakness, and I seriously
doubt if he will run at all in the Belmont.
Good luck to the myraid of non-believers (anyway).
