That's about 1/3 of the field battling for good position near the front on the first turn all in the midst of 19 sets of thundering hooves and 150,000 screaming fans.

Likely to be a fast pace and a fairly strung-out field, which should favor the stalkers and the closers as is typically the case in the Derby.
