Either the 1 or the 6 would have made a big difference to my pick 5 payoff back on Jim Dandy day had they gotten up as I was alive to both. That field struck me as being a weak field overall and 1 horse was working well in the AM with a decent older minor stakes type. The 1's debut was better than it looks on paper, as you can see on his sheet, and he comes back now with first Lasix and adds Blinkers. Get's the rail and should save ground all the way around. I expect him to improve in this spot if Rosario doesn't butcher the ride. He's so hit or miss lately I can't figure him out.
But the one that really interests me in this race, and should really interest anyone that knows Saratoga well, is Admiral Blue for Leon Blusiewicz. Doesn't appear to be bred to go long, or for grass for that matter, but he shows up here in this spot on Travers Day after having a turf work back on 7/22 and a 1 1/8 race on the dirt 8/5?
