You may be the eternal optimist “nice size fields” is indeed the highest compliment one could pay to this version of an opening day card.

3 maiden heats, 2 Stakes, that’s a typical Spa weekday card. The other 5 races are a 25K claimer, the bottom Spa level once upon a time, 2 straight NW2L & 2 glorified NW2L conditioned to NW 10& 13K other than once......

Gimme a break, they ran nothing but garbage the last week of Belmont and this is the best they could come up with for an opening day card?

Far and away the worst opening day card I’ve ever seen in 46 years. This is very disappointing.
