I have a different question for the team: was there a sizeable gap between the Thorograph figs of Promises Fulfilled in The Phoenix and Roy H in the SA Sprint? I'm going to get the sheets for Breeders Cup but would really like to know beforehand.[/b]

This question is sort of curious. I suspect the answer will be cryptic like "sorta" but historically TG publishs few #'s before their time.

Thoughts and considerations that have probably run through your mind.

In the Phoenix @ Kee Promises Fulfilled and Limousine Liberal each carried 122, Whitmore 124. Promises Fulfilled did not run on the rail around the turn more of a 2-3 path, so some ground loss. Additionally the first two quarters were both run in approximately 22.5 coming home late in 12.29 for a solid 1:09.05. Certainly the TG # is subzero and probably for the top three finishers. They routinely run zero and better. Not to mention the top three have each been consistently fast this year. Limousine Liberal runs TG -1.+ consistently. Whitmore is a bit less consistent in a range between 1 and -1.+.

The Santa Anita Sprint Championship, also a five horse race, went in a nearly identical 1:09.09, with slightly slower splits. Roy H finishing a strong sub 12 late. Roy H. carried 125 and wasted ground on the turn running 3 wide. Considering the #'s Roy H has earned previously this was was also probably sub zero but not huge imo. It can be assumed that trainer Peter Miller has been shopping thrift shops looking for new hats and has been pointing at The B.C. Sprint for awhile, so form looks on target. Last year 2017 Roy H's slow races were -0 or -1 1:09.+ish his fast ones including the BC Sprint were -4 1:08.6.

Bottom line seems to be track variant. I, for one, would expect races @ SA to go faster than Kee. So, in my view I give the nod to the KY race as being the quicker of the two.
