Technically it's an 0-1-X, Term of Art put forth more effort than the an 0-2-X and indeed for study purposes and TG figure-based stats we categorize it as an pair of tops and off race pattern. Either pattern, so noted by experience, can yield forward moves and occasional new tops, the younger the horse the more likely. Thoro-Pattern however at times and this time refutes the folklore--%s--5,27,32,36---tpox.

Note the X is better than the prior year's top and this is obviously a better, faster horse this year, injury time notwithstanding. This is a case where you look at the field, what they run, what's needed to score, the conditions of the race, vis-a-vis the odds of the horse in question. Looks like the linemaker kind of got this right (vis-a-vis Thoro-Pattern). 20-1 is fair odds.
