You are right. I just saw the Beyer (85) this morning. That is slower than I would have guessed based on just the TG data. I was guessing the top two improved their tops by around 3 points, which is not that big an improvement for young 3yos. The Beyer would suggest they just paired, and everyone else went back a lot.
The Timeform US analyst (David Aragona) suggested (before the race) that Harvey Wallbanger tended to run to the level of his competition (never out of the exacta) and thus could be faster than it appeared on paper (although Aragona preferred Epic Dreamer).
As for the favorite, I wonder how predictive his Remsen figure is. Remsen figures have a history of leading me down the wrong path. The Songandaprayer on his bottom side suggests that two turns is not going to be Maximus Mischief's forte.
