As Rich Curtis suggested, racing seems to have trouble distinguishing between a lifeline and a noose.
Thought you all might like to know that PETA's laudatory statement from March 15th (below) has now been deleted from its site.
It's one thing for Belinda to have been played for a sap, but the Jockey Club really should have known better.
Last one leaving Santa Anita, please turn out the lights. As Dandy Don would say, the party's over.
