Master Fencer who is likely to be the first Japanese bred colt to start the Kentucky Derby was sired by Just A Way and some will consider that significant. Note - Master Fencer is of his sires first crop.

When the 2014 World's Best Racehorse Rankings were published in January 2015, Just A Way was rated the best horse to race anywhere in the world in 2014, one pound ahead of Epiphaneia and two ahead of Able Friend, Australia, Kingman, The Grey Gatsby and Variety Club. Early in the year he was ranked 5 lbs ahead of #2 Game On Dude and that was before they started throwing rabbits @ GOD to beat him.

The sire had no distance limitations. Master Fencer is a stout looking individual who is experienced running in the large fields of Japanese races. 15-20 entrants is not uncommon.

We have no idea how fast this fellow is so its assumed he's slow and he probably is. Just saying his sire was a special one.
