Silver,
It’s not a good betting race in my opinion but a couple of very interesting handicapping angles.
I’m sure most are shocked that a turf stakes in NY has 2 Chad Brown runners.
Like most turf heats the TG numbers are tight, all but one in the field are within a point of each other.
If you look at the weights, conditions and that the first 3 finishers get an automatic invite to the Belmont Derby it may help explain why there are so many
Chadzacta’s.....
It ain’t all Voodoo & Juice.
Both Chad runners get 4-6 lbs. from the major competition, .8 - 1.2 TG points in an evenly matched field. The top 3 go to the Belmont Derby, DRF article has Demarchelier per Brown in a perfect spot stretching out to 9f here setting up the 10f Belmont Derby.
He is a sheet theorist, be it the wrong ones 🤫, but manages his runners accordingly.
Pharmaceutical & supplement advantages? For sure (IMHO)
Pointing a horse toward a specific objective gaining every possible advantage, while gobbling up purses along the way? None better in the game.
