Frank, do me a favor. When you put your P5 ticket in, pick whatever you would have played in the 6th & look at how much it would have cost you @ 20 cents & what your P5 would have cost at 50 cents. Then see which provided a better profit (Since I hope you cash & can calculate it off your actual payoff).
Now I know last Sunday isn't a good example because there was a mandatory payoff, but the P6 (if you had the 1st leg) was a better play than the P5. I'm biased because I hit it last Sunday, the 1st time I played it, mainly because I had 2 singles, which I have to have at a minimum to play the P6. My ticket was 2x3x1x7x1x5 and I got 210 combos for $42. It paid $10,547. The P5 which would have cost me $52.50 paid about $2,500. More money in, less money back. The 20 cent buy in enabled me to go ALL in 2 of the last 3 races & keep my costs down on what typically is a frivolous bet.
