Touche...tactically placed wager. One can win with a Derby Favorite.
E.Q. is closing consistently and that usually plays well with the added eighth mile. Don't like his last two works in not passing Spa City, but that could also be tactical to not do too much. Spa City is a four year old, big, nicely bred and very put together, stated to be a first class work horse. Not completely enamored with the Blue Grass, granting Highly Motivated almost stole it on a slowed down pace. Not overly enamored with the nothing slop win in the Southwest either. Not enamored with the head held to the right in the late stages of recent races and the bearing out in works and the Bluegrass. I think he's been all out in those close wins.
