IMO, Pace in this turf race is only occasionally a factor. Remembering it is the Jockey who usually controls the trip and consequently the pace.
Leparoux is familiar with War Like Goddess. We have to expect him to get the timing right.
Only a very special horse or poor judgment on everybody else's part is going to allow a competitor to run off and steal a race on the turf at this distance. When trainer Appleby's two horses ran off and destroyed a nice bunch of turf horses earlier this year (Spring @ KEE ??) folks didn't know how good they were. When they did it again well LOL
A couple of U.S. horses may lead the others for a mile they might even separate some but the race will be in the final quarter-mile and who can maintain momentum.
The issue for me is the Euro's and even dare I say the Japanese horse. IMO. That group is a cut above U.S. based turf horses even Chad Browns.
I expect one of the Euro's, probably the French mares Andarya or Rougir the (Prix de Opera winners have performed well in recent years) if I'm not mistaken. I would be concerned if Frenchie languishes at the back too far behind others who have withering late kicks also.
But I will need to hear from my Euro Advisor Templeton Peck and our only Scandanavian poster Pete before settling on a favorite.
