Someone else does Ellis so I’m not speaking to that one specifically. But in general grass races are easier to do because grass horses are much more consistent— as long as you have horses that have figure histories to work with. You rely much less on surrounding races. And if you’re not sure you mark them for review.
Gulfstream (for example) is a lot of fun (not). THREE surfaces, short fields, about distances, timing issues, changing track speeds. There are reasons I give more boxes out there than anyplace else. And curse a lot.
The short fields many places (thank you, Lasix) mean a degree of built in uncertainty. We’ve been doing a lot of review, you will notice the occasional changed figure.
