This weekend, I would like some folks to run a little test with a friend for us if they are so inclined.
1. Pull up the track feed on your ADW app while you are at the track you are at live.
2. While watching the race live, maybe even a two turn race from the rail right at the gate, and simultaneously watching on your phone, have your friend ready to roll with the CLOCK app on Stop Watch. Have your friend hit START on the Stop Watch when the gates spring right in front of your eyes. Have your friend hit STOP on the Stop Watch when the horses break from the feed playing on your phone.
3. Let us all know how many seconds difference you have. 17 to 18 seconds was a recent test I completed.
4. Next race, Place a $2 wager on your phone after the gates have sprung live but they are still loading or in the gate on the delayed video feed. Try it at one to three seconds out of the gate. The next race try again at say 8 to 10 seconds.
5. Let us know if you get the bet in or not after they left the gate.
6. Go back and read the very last line of the first post in this thread after completing the exercise and consider why I may have mentioned that little hint.
On a somewhat unrelated but interesting note, Gramm's podcast appearance mentions how the Tote Feed for the last flash at NYRA while he was doing a study involving the late money changed to a SLOWER update and he questioned why that would be the latest update to the system. Hopefully I didn't butcher his thoughts here as that's from memory but I believe I have couched it correctly. I think he said it went from a 10 second delay to a 30 second delay.
