Thanks for posting and good work looking at the exactas AND posting here.
Appreciated.
On the CAW front, one of the "complaints" was in re: to R2 by Portnoy. The more he complains to bring attention to it, the better as far as I'm concerned. He is pushing a lot of sports betting fans away from racing until they solve at least the perception issue.
He complains about the 4 in R2 who is 14-1 loading in the gate. 6.20-1 off odds.
Chart comment: "Vied for the early lead on the inside"
The winner and favorite was 6-5 going in the gate. 1.80-1 (9-5) off odds (not 2-1 as you list). Now, some say well look the odds went UP on a winner. That is NOT the salient point for those very much paying attention.
Chart comment: "Was off a step slow." Listed as 8th of 10 at the start. And between going in the gate and when the odds are put up again down the backside he drifted from 6 to 5 UP to 9 to 5.
______________
When odds changes are CONSISTENTLY reflecting things that happen out of the gate, there needs to be changes to ensure all the wagering is "finalized" or "settled" or "calculated" (use whatever terminology you like) before the gates open. When they fix that and they could if they wanted to, then the Complaints would end. And people would be more apt to wager more of their dollars into the pools. But it is more valuable to cater to the CAW's, turn a blind eye to how they exploit the old system, etc etc, you know the drill.
