I listened to a podcast yesterday called The Dividend Cafe. It had an 18 minute listening time. The title of the episode is: "Markets As A Video Game"

There are many ideas from these 18 minutes that could be expanded upon and extended out to many areas of life. He mentions briefly the prediction markets as well as sports gambling. Of course, I considered it as it relates to horse racing.

Big picture, in reference to your 2 hour basketball game example, he mentions a book from 1985 called Amusing Ourselves to Death. Isn't that all folks are mostly doing now with their wagering and gambling decisions? Much, much more one can consider in this regard.

For some here, it may be worth a listen. Just a few clicks and it will be a quick and easy listen.
