In the big-money race, I expect shenanigans from BB. Remember, a few years ago, he campaigned an older horse (Game On Dude) that could not rate. When the competition figured that out, he had retire the warrior. BB hated the rabbits being used against him—just the type of personality to hold a grudge. If Forever Young does not run his race (I think he will), other Japanese contenders could inherit a race that falls apart.
I've long thought the 3 y/o Derby was the easiest way into the Kentucky Derby. A couple of SoCal trainers have tried recently without much success. I expect a second Japanese-bred could make this year's field. I like the #5 Keiai Agito Moreira up. I consider the USA sired Japanese competitors mysterious. My World, the Brad Cox colt likely to attract bets, earning an underlay status. Doug O'Neil likes this race, and the one he brought this year will be under the radar, I think. **Whoops, I think I have this race mixed up with the Dubai Derby, a Ky Derby Prep at a longer distance.
The turf races will once again be the domain of the Euro monsters. Hoping to get a price on Royal Champion, the Irishrunner in the G1.
It's logical to expect entries from US trainers to dominate the dirt sprints with the grass dash's opportunities for bombs.
Good Luck All.
