Absolutely true, and I had a (losing) win ticket on that horse.

That said, 11-1 was a way more appropriate number, and would have bet him even there. The exacta (which I should have had, but didn't*) of 6-1 over 11-1, paid 108-1.

For sure, the CAWS make "how the hell is that horse ...." reactions to the tote less common, but they were rare** to begin with.

*My literal recommendation was "Echo Lane must be in exotics". Except mine, of course.
