I thought the same thing. Irad was going to win in a canter. Was kind of surprised that he gave him a tap with the @#$%& stick at the 1/16th pole.
Wonder what the figure comes back. Wide on both turns, won by 11 lengths. The final times on the dirt seemed a tick slow, but visually the effort was outstanding. Second win at Keeneland by open lengths.
Has anyone else noticed that Equibase is now posting 2 different finish times in the charts? They have a "finish time" after the run up, and a time from the gate.
Using rules of thumb everyday at work, I used a crude 2 second run up on the dirt for years when trying to figure the time from the gate, just to keep from hand timing every race , when making speed figures on the fly.
