I can see why you'd have the track speeding up, given the Ghostzapper and Oaks times. But I would think tossing the former as just an oddly run race would be the way to go. The difference is just so great with no real cause.

The races were an hour apart with no rain and very little wind. The 7 furlong stake for older males that was an hour later than the Oaks wasn't especially fast at 1:23.11.

But the Oaks winner went .14 slower than Grande did in the GZ, while carrying 2 more pounds and running an extra 53 feet. That's what, 3 points better - from a filly whose best was something like a 10 compared to Grande's 0s? Is it possible for a track to change that much in an hour without something dramatic happening? Toss the GZ and the difference between the Oaks and the FD looks kosher.

Timeform gave Grande the bigger number than Commandment, despite only 5.75 seconds between the two races - noting a slowly run race. God knows how Beyer gave a 98 for Grande and a 90 for Prom Queen.
