This is a pretty good source for research. For the most part every year no more than 2 or 3 runners go off at less than 8-1. Only 4 horses less than 10-1.

Runners like Puma or Potente are going to be 12-1 to 15-1. That isn't me with a Handicapping Opinion. It's just the math of a 20 horse field when 3 or 4 horse are 10-1 or less.
