We reviewed a whole lot of Derby and Oaks preps and changed some numbers, mostly in Florida. They’re making it harder and harder to make accurate figures— smaller fields mean less data points, and at GP especially, few dirt races, and even fewer two turn dirt races, sometimes just one over 3-4 days, with a five horse field of maidens (See Prom Queen, two back).
So sometimes you have to go with what you’ve got at the time, and mark them to review after some have run back. I ended up leaving the Tampa and Florida Derbies alone, at least for now.
So yes, we took a little off Emerging Market’s first figure, though we still don’t have it as fast as Beyer does.
