I'm not a stats guy, but I was fairly shocked when I recently saw Mike Maker is under 5% in graded stakes. Not a small sample either - per DRF 76 starts.
I'll have to decide if this matters by Saturday, as his Pin Up Betty (7/2) is second choice (by ML) in the Distaff Turf Mile, and Crown the Buckeye (6-1) get Prat (1st time) in the Pat Day Mile.
I saw how Shug couldn't buy a win at GP earlier, but would be hard pressed to explain how that happens. You (I) would think the ability to train racehorses would be a constant. What would the variables be?
