I am making a pilgrimage to Timonium this year. I grew up in DC and my first time ever at the races was Timonium a couple of weeks after the the Bi-Centennial -- back then, Timonium raced for a significant chunk of the Summer - Bowie raced through July 4 weekend, then Timonium took over through Labor Day. Anyway, this year is my 50th anniversary of my first day to the track. All I can say is, horseracing at the semiquincentennial is looking a lot different than it did at the bicentennial.
