Focus, Outstanding posts and thanks for posting. Agreed completely and told folks before even reading your posts that CD with the vet scratches at the gate and now the favorite parade and the late odds changes make it all unplayable.
Two Day CD total for post time favorites: 16/21. (76%). The one loss today was by a head and finished 2nd.
In Race 6, the Equibase chart states the race was off at 3:20. My post during race 6 about races 1-5 to the TG Board states a posted time of 3:21. During that time when the horses entered the gate, the horses broke, and the pools reconciled whatever that means, the favorite changed in the win pool. Carson was favored the entire time from the end of race 5 until the start of race 6.
The Chart for Carson states: CARSON, stumbled, bumped with an outer rival, and dislodged his rider at the start.
Carson suddenly as the race unfolded and the pools settled and the betting was complete went from the favorite to the third choice in the win Pool. Like you mentioned, the CDI folks and industry backers with their heads in the sand sometimes pop up to tell us well just look at those pick 3 pools but not the doubles and you would have seen who the favorite would be. The start had Nothing to do with it they will tell you. Where's Boscar? He can affirm this is all just good handicapping by the teams and folks that bet late!!
$1 Double Will Pays:
1. $10.03
9. $15.77
10. $16.24
$1 Pick 3 Will Pays:
1. $41.50
9. $42.08
10. $46.86
In Mike Maloney's 2017 book Betting with An Edge, Section Seven, Chapter 1 is titled: Yes, Past Posting is Possible. When he was able to confirm that he had a past posting incident with the evidentiary proof, the answer he finally got was: "The Truth is we don't know when the race started" and further "We don't know when any of our races start, and I don't think any racetrack does."
How do we know exactly when the races start today. Based on when the wagering ends? They fixed this problem since circa 2016? I doubt it. What time exactly did my post go on the TG board. There is a 59 second window there when it is only listed to the minute. Maloney was getting bets in as late as 50 seconds when he was trying to prove there was past posting. As for my post here, I can tell you I posted it during that 6th race but does anyone really know the exact time if the site doesn't have technology down to the second?
Meanwhile industry execs give us the "Trust us Bro" rant as it is only on rare, rare occasions that these things happen that betting happens after the bell. This whole history of cases where favorites GO UP IN ODDS after they break last and lose the jock is all just imagined. Got it.
As for NYRA, I find it most interesting this line from the Paulick Report article recently: "A 'vast majority' of the decline, O’Rourke said, has come from two of the approximately 20 CAW players." It's been documented here and elsewhere who they are. Guess they only want to play when they have that ultimate Edge. But that doesn't quite square with their ultimate handicapping equations are just better. . . .
Hope that lawsuit reaches discovery on these issues. NYRA might be the wise ones we will see in due time while the greedy folks may face some consequences.
