Yes, me too
Last night I was thinking about Richie B.
I really wished for his take on this planned demise of the Big A.
Mr Richie B had a gift for articulating the situation at hand through the inherent absurdity.
Witness his takes on so many of the post-Lakow NYRA moves and the subsequent degradation of New York racing

He was just plain funny while illuminating the serious situation at hand
Read his recap-post about the first Belmont Stakes after 9/11
I cannot tell you how hard and how long I laughed at his “NYRA clear plastic baggie giveaway” . I still laugh over it

When I first joined the board, I was so excited to have found a group of people that were so serious about the business and the handicapping and betting as those on this board. Because amongst my family and friends, there are none that get why I do this.
Richie B was still posting regularly then.
I was new to the board and kinda felt (insecurely) like the odd ‘man’ out. So, as excited as I was, at first, I reacted a bit defensively to a couple of his posts. I know I am not good with first impressions, no excuse. It takes time to get to know someone. Finally, I got past myself and came to see the genuine richness of Richie B.

Sad thing Aqueduct closing, and for what, again?
Oh, I so wish we could hear his words on this.

I thank all of you for your community, your opinions, your thoughts, sometimes we may spat, but we’re all the same in the same game
To those of you who read yet don’t post, hey give it a shot. It’s a good thing, this board

I’m going to make a real effort to do more handicapping posts
