1. STAR SWEEPER
Has previously proven he can go 6 furlongs in about 1:12, which gives me reason to believe Napoleon Solo may not be the only colt leading the field. I'm pretty sure SS will head for the parking lot instead of the second turn.
2. FURTHER ADO
A cursory conclusion would be that he is an alternator and due for an off-race. But to complicate things, he's the fastest entrant when on. He's trained by Cox and ridden by Irad Ortiz, making him a brave toss. I think the 2/1 ML morning line is less about his ability, form, or pattern and more about the tote forecast. Will be an underlay to me.
3. Baby Vino is not the only offspring of Vino Rosso who got better with age like their poppa. One of several whose speed figure includes noticeable ground loss. With a morning line of 15/1, even with the risk of a bounce, I think this one should be used both in Horizontals and vertical wagers.
4. THE PUMA Trainer Delgado took a short break before tackling a summer campaign, hoping for a good fall. I like the vacation after 4 early 2026 FL performances. The problem is another with no early speed and TG figures rife with ground loss. This one is sure to have traffic and trip issues, which is just opportunities for mistakes to me. At the 7/2 ML a tossup whether to include or exclude.
5. IRON HONOR is arguably the entrant with some value. Trained by Chad Brown and ridden by Flavien Prat suggests to me a capable performer and an expected reduction of ground loss. One in which a jump-up performance would not be a shock.
6. NAPOLEON SOLO: Can we count on another Preakness-like performance even though that TG figure does include ground loss and is not eye-popping. A hard one to back with confidence while still being one that might just run away from these. (At least for a while) Top weighted along with FURTHER ADO.
7. OCELLLI The 3rd place finisher in the recent Kentucky Derby, lest we forget the winner's comeback race. With a ML of 6/1 and off the recent pair of his good 2 y/o top. This guy has to be the TG special. Yeah, the race is only 1+1/8M, the Jockey and ground loss (?) but he could be sitting on another improvement and needs everything to go right for him or wrong for others.
