News came out today that CDI and NYRA will partner on a new series of six races designed to generate interest in the 3yo division, with a $5 million bonus to be distributed based on a points system at the conclusion of the series.

The 2027 schedule includes:

1. Kentucky Derby
2. Belmont Stakes
3. Matt Winn
4. Jim Dandy
5. Travers
6. A race to be determined @ Churchill Downs

Notably, the Preakness is missing from this list. Did Pimlico decline to participate, or were they not included? It seems that the potential bonus at the end of the rainbow would have incentivized some trainers to run their horses back on short rest in the Preakness.
