I’ll be in Hong Kong in early September for the first time and thought I’d spend a Wednesday night at Happy Valley Racecourse.

From the photos, the place looks amazing—a huge racing complex with seven-story grandstands, seemingly dropped right into the middle of the city. And while they apparently race there only on Wednesday nights, the betting handle is enormous.

Has anyone here been to Happy Valley? Any thoughts or advice for a first-time visitor? Best areas to sit? Don’t-miss food or restaurants? Avoid the sushi on the fourth floor?

And most importantly… where can I pick up the Thoro-Graphs for Happy Valley?

Just kidding. But seriously, is there any sort of “Sheets-like� handicapping product available there in English? Surely somebody has tried to imitate Jerry’s work for that enormous Asian racing market.
