A few million-dollar babies went to post for the first time yesterday. Two of them caught my eye. One in NY and one in CA. Both one impressively. Most notably, these two were actually more like 2 million-dollar babies.

To my eye, both were more than handsome. I thought both ran like future champions, and as long as they stay healthy, they would seem to be on a collision course at KEE for the BCJuv. But so many obstacles between now and then.
Before Fairmount facilitated the scrambling of my mind by touting an MIT professor's stimulating presentation, I was luxuriating in the dreams and visceral joy of two future equine champions' careers.
In the material world, Spendthrift Farms, despite its exciting history, is apparently a syndicate or Corp today. So the purchase price risk/rewards are shared. KAS Stables, which is part of King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz and sons essential a single-family owner to whom $2M is relatively insignificant.
So, on one hand, an economic endeavor and the other a hobby. The sport of Kings vs the wannabes.
Flightline adds major intrigue and drama to the mix.
In the modern world of headlines about 7.7-magnitude earthquakes knocking down cities, rainstorms washing houses off mountainsides, sailors jumping off aircraft carriers, and preseason football for eager fans who cannot even figure out how to watch a game. Headlines mostly saying, "hooray for our side".
Saturday racing was chalky and nice, then I fell asleep.
PS The Fairhill British Bookie scamming trainers were each charged with PED infractions, and Graham Motion, who has trained at Fairhill for decades, shipped to DMR to win a Stakes on the lawn.
