While we disagree by a Wide Margin on the tote security and pools closing on time, we agree 100% on this issue. The "genius" factor that went beyond what a handicapper could discern from DRF, Timeform, TG, pace, etc, etc and CAW's crushing prices has to my eye also lightened up for a while now.

Earlier in the year, I repeatedly told friends that horses were getting crushed to prices I could not comprehend AND winning at a very high rate. Small tracks, large tracks, etc. I theorized the trainers were selling info to the CAW's. I also theorized that they had access to medical info. Then, the Vet PP's came out and it all made sense on items that I possibly was "missing" to explain horses winning by wide margins and at beyond low prices.

This is all conjecture and pretty meaningless without hard data to prove it. But if the CAW's are less effective at the moment so be it!!

The Official Circling of the Wagons has reached peak effort! The denials of some around MG have started. One person who has been noticeably silent is someone whose handicapping earlier this year was really hitting some good notes with public picks while trying to peddle his authorship (intentionally vague here). Some good prices. I couldn't solve a few of his angles. One monster price was a 2yo turned 3yo for a trainer with a known track record of taking an edge. Horse didn't win but earned a place but was hard to get to even with that 2yo to 3yo improvement angle. But if a shrewd handicapper was checking the database for treatments coming in and seeing patterns for certain trainers, it is possible they uncovered an edge. Pondering on this, I wondered, did other folks have MG or others login information and start perusing horses they shouldn't despite not even being a permitted person in the portal. HISA might want to start looking at the exact location of the login's for various folks here, MG specifically. As merely an example, if someone in Washington was logging in but MG wasn't ever there. . .

It would be a shame if unauthorized folks were using authorized folks credentials. Worth considering . . .

EDIT/ADDITION: I think it is important to point out how often MG was beyond supportive along with his pal Nick T of Co-existing with the CAW's. Were/Are they on the payroll? Were they scared the game would fail without CAW's and their livelihood is at risk?? I can't say but it has been interesting through the years how people who OUT RIGHT should be against CAW's refused to take that stance. (Meanwhile Paulick is arguing possibly that Gramm was fed up with the competition by CAW's and merely trying to compete...not buying that one).
