I have Englishman at 120-123 (I am at 121 if pinning me down) on the Beyer scale without putting a ton of work into it beyond the raw times of the three 7f races and making some rudimentary calculations. We will see what the experts at Beyer say soon enough.

The scratches of horses from BC Win and You're In Races is wild. It would be a wonderful exercise to go back over last few years and mark down the exact timing before the race, the excuse, and see if similar trainers have popped up. The 4 post position has to be one of my favorites from earlier this week but a few years ago the same trainer scratched from a Sar 2yo race b/c the distance wasn't quite right despite being the same distance for decades.

Why is horse racing dead set on huge gaps of time between races? CT did it last night. Sar 8 hours of racing. KY Downs with near 40 minutes between racing at one point today. IT IS TOO MUCH! If these tracks don't see the modern trend is to keep ACTION and More Action in front of the younger crowd, then they have no shot to capture these folks. How about tracks put up a 2nd Video Board on the infield and put a 2nd track on it for gambling and wagering on while there are enormous blocks of time between races? Saratoga and Ky Downs as partners. Pair bets together and keep races separated timing wise. Saratoga and Del Mar late in the Sar card. Even at Fairmount, show Saratoga on a 2nd video board throughout the day while spacing your races away from Saratoga's. Nope....The St. Louis Derby was run literally seconds after the Travers crossed the wire.

I could go on and on about racing problems or ideas to improve the game. But as everyone knows . . .THEY (the tracks) DO NOT CARE!!! No one could possibly hate their customers more than the tracks. Every idea I've ever communicated to the new folks at Fairmount has largely been met with no interest. The latest is no interest in night racing despite the fact that is where they could get LARGE, (DRUNK) Crowds to spend inordinate amounts on their casino. But, alas, they claim the lights don't work (If BIll Stiritz had 'em working, you can get 'em working).

Big Day Sar. Terrific KY Downs fields today. Fairmount with a MONSTER Crowd today (handled 880k). Del Mar with 2 big BC Win and You're IN races. Racing could really do well at the very top moving ahead if they actually tried to make intelligent moves. They won't. I do not know how the small tracks will make it in the years ahead to be honest.

Maybe I should just go buy a new outfit and a new hat, post that on social media and be a part of the club blindly accepting that racing has no interest in self sustaining, long term growth and improvements instead of sounding like Grampa Simpson.
