Sad to hear the news today, but he gave me the most thrills of anyone. Seeing him tie Citation's record (or did he break it) at Arlington was awesome. He had the crowd crowding the windows upstairs from the paddock because you could not get close downstairs. It was electric. I compared it being around the Beatles (I'm old enough).
And what a champ - before loading, he stopped, looked into the jam packed stands, then sauntered into the gate. Coming around the final turn, he was not in front. That changed seemingly as if he knew it would whenever he wanted it to. Amazing.
Later visited the KY horse park, and I thought he looked smaller than I remembered. Probably due to his neighbor in the stalls - John Henry.
