Getting old (1054 Views)

I was reminded just now of the fact that I have been following and involved with thoroughbreds for a helluva long time. Watching the 9th from Laurel, I heard a horse mentioned named Gorse. The Gorse I remember was a broodmare for Hickory Tree Farm from the mid 80's. That race was followed by the Tale of the Cat stakes from the Spa. I first saw him as an unnamed 2 year old in John Forbes' barn at Belmont. I guess my daughters are correct when they lovingly call their father a broken down old man at 58.
