In the fall season of Political and Medicare Advantage commercials ones head spins and aggravation reaches unhealthy levels.
In Florida, Constitutional Amendment #3 made the ballot. Most of the ads one sees ostensibly argue the initiative is about who controls casino gambling in FL, the evil politicians or the good people. Pass the amendment and the people will control gambling in FL.
The oddity is however, that the ads are being paid for by huge donations from Disney and The Seminole Indian Tribe. Two enterprises which really don't want any change to the status quo. Disney is a little suspicious but the Seminoles have a monopoly on casino gamling in the state.
The opposition is oddly enough a presumed front for the NFL Miami Dolphins and another for the Tampa Bay Bucaneers. What is their interest in casino gambling?
Turns out the initiative at its essence is really about sports betting. Passage of the amendment as I understand it would require a 60% majority to authorize any new gambling enterprise in Fla.
Devious!
