I don't want to criticize CDI. I don't know enough about either their business operations or strategy.

I want to give them credit for their recent move to not apply for table games permits @ AP. Apparently, CDI aims to be hated by the racing world in general and the thoroughbred horse racing industry insiders in particular. So in an attempt to protect my karma I compliment CDI, and specifically the executive in charges of the Public Relations Department for, once again, doing a good job at creating a negative public image.

CEO William C. Carstanjen seems to be an attorney by training.

COO William E. Mudd notes his actuarial background. A six Sigma Master Black Belt i.e. Jack Welsh disciple.

CFO Marcia A. Dall is apparently along with Mr. Mudd is another refugee from General Electric Finance or the notorious G.E. Capital.

Tonya Abeln is apparently the Director of Corporate Communications (per their website) and is due some if not all the credit for the tremendous Public Relations accomplishments.

There are always multiple perspectives to every race. Maybe it is irrelevant or not their intention to have such an unpopular image. Could be it is all a mistake or events innaccurately reported by the media. What I like most about horse racing is its simplicity either one has results or reasons. Stock price is up hail the winners.
