Watching and playing Churchill the past few days, the muddy track excluded, it seemed to have a bias towards speed. You had to be close to win. I had a couple of tough beats, the worst of which was the 4th when Snow House stayed in front while my picks ran 2-3-4. Keeping the bias I observed in mind I made a big play on Hellium in the 9th with an exacta with Obesos, only to have a heavily backed Fulsome come from dead last to win. Both bad beats were to horses trained by Cox who looked a few points slower. This is an example of how this stuff gets in your head and makes it impossible to handicap. Today it was Ccx,, tomorrow it will be to another trainer with magical powers. Do the horses or the patterns even matter anymore???
