I responded to Friedman's post on their site, it's gonna come down, etc.
Here it is.
It was a pain in the butt to work out your corrections on the day, but I did it—and the relationship was the same at the beginning and end, but not in between. How about posting the run-down and corrections (both dirt and turf) so we all are using the same alphabet?
But since you brought it up—“there are times when the routes and sprints diverge from their normal relationship, usually due (to) significant changes in weather or unusually substantial track work…”
Wow. You might recall the huge furor that resulted following the ’00 Wood Memorial, when a wet track was sealed and unsealed over the course of the card—and you went on record as saying that the ridiculously fast figures Ragozin assigned were justified by tying the variant of that race to that of the sprints. Any comment? And does that relationship only change when YOU can figure or find out the specific reason? Does it always change when the weather changes or they do work, and if so, by how much? If not, why not? You say in your opinion it didn’t happen here—based on what? Your answers can’t be based on the past histories of the horses—you already have said that doesn’t work.
As an afterthought, I would have added the following: On what basis did you decide there should be a slide?
