War Emblem didn't fade after finally getting the lead at about a mile into the race. He died at the break. I had to dance with who brung me, but I've seen enough to know he didn't bounce. I'm not saying he's a Dr. Fager. He certainly isn't, but that horse needed to be free running on the lead as well. Of all the horses that participated in this years Belmont the one most likely to run that race in two twenty seven and change was the hard luck Triple Crown loser. I read what Baffert said and felt the same way. The race was lost on the break. When War Emblem stuck his nose in front I said: "My God he must be a superhorse." But he fights the jockey and himself when not allowed to run free and at the mile mark he was fatigued from those battles. He's done it before and ran out of gas in similar fashion. They tried to rate him when Repent beat him down south. Theres been many good ones like that. I don't think he's a Fager, or a Seabiscuit or maybe not even a Holy Bull, but I think he's much better than many here understand. At any rate he's a heckuva lot better than Perfect Dread.
