Does anyone know what sent Cigar Street to the sidelines for a year and a half? Mott is well known for his patience and ability to rehabilitate a horse. This horse is attracting many pundits and if he recovers to the -3 could be the winner as you point out.
But understanding 19 months off and missing most of his 3, 4 and 5 year old seasons is a nagging question. Yet running one good race, winning the Breeders Cup Classic makes a campaign, a year and a career.
In all likelihood, he will be prominent for much of the race. Top jock helps. Lots to like but not for me yet.
Lastly, I for one, have been suspicious about and dubious of horse's duplicating top GP #'s elsewhere. When does the Tonalist tout begin. That one is a concern to me.
