If I had a vote Bayern might be my 3YO Eclipse winner. My knocks on Cal Chrome are a)no wins v elders and b)CC beat a weak field in the Holly Derby; this was not like Secretariat capping off his 3YO campaign by winning two grass stakes against the best turf horses in NA and setting a track record at 12f which stood for
decades.

To award CC 3YO HOY basically said this award is for best performer in Triple Crown and preps.

Tough to vote for the one dimensional Bayern, but his body of work, which includes a 7 furlong graded stakes win, impresses me more than CC's.
