This has happened before. It makes sense if you think you want to bet a large amount on "All other 3yos." If you bet late, you'll hurt your price. If you bet early, others will adjust their betting, so that you end up getting a "market" price.

It hasn't hit since Animal Kingdom, but historically "All other 3yos" has been a profitable bet in this pool.
