More to the story is the greedy politicians/Cuomo in Albany. All sorts of numbers being tossed around as to what potential revenue will come to the State from future casinos.A huge political bomb may explode in that the State is about to be sued for shorting NYC's public schools app $2.5billion, monies mandated by law.
Scrambling to make a deal, Albany looking at ways to come up with the $$ and a "few" Senators/Assemblymen looking at racing slot subsidies received by NYRA/racing from Genting. This,a disaster for NYRA should subsidies be discontinued or reduced. While the subsidies to NYRA/racing are mandated by law,Cuomo has been known to ignore that when he wants, as he ignored the bonafide NYRA Franchise agreement when he seized control of NY racing.
While this is going on, NYRA CEO Chris Kay and his minions are nickel and diming the players/owners to try to pretty up NYRA's financials, BRILLIANT!
