Acclimation, I assume JB is is referring to the process of physiological adjustment. However based on what I've read from these "move up" trainers, the constant theme seems to be transforming the horses into happy horses. i.e., a psychological acclimation?
So what puzzles me is how changing barns (zip codes) in N.Y. is so psychologically different than doing the same in SoCal. While it is clear that the denizens of the "City of Angels" are inherently dissimilar to those in or near the "Big Apple", change is change, trauma is trauma!
Apparently changing neighborhoods in Gotham is fundamentally different than switching from beach bum to valley guy in the concrete desert. I grew up in L.A. and my subsequent visits to N.Y. cause me to suspect the ethnicity and linguistics of the different NYC neighborhoods could be at the heart of this enigma.
Alternatively, all the California Horses are already happy and a new dose causes no change or DJ has a new strategy yet to be divulged. But in any case newsworthy and curious.
On the conspiracy front, I believe last years NTRA NHC was earmarked by bombs @ OP in statebred day 1 races (FTS) picked by LA based players including the eventual winner. A simple and not illegal coup?
