Not a red board post, in intention. Just that when older run thru their conditions, especially on dirt, stakes or claimers are the future options.

Many are spent and owners prefer the box seats and the minor awards in the added money events, which can add up, probably realizing little chance for a win outside of the ever dwindling handicap races where they can get some advantage thru poundage assignment.

The California was a good example. My point was/is that these types just run around there. Because horses are herd animals there figures are often inflated/overstated in regards to their competiveness. Trailing time figs should be adjusted by the player, given that there is nothing amiss with the previous numbers assigned. bbb
